Moving Cons
Moving cons are often overlooked but they are worth
considering before relocating your home or office to a new area.
Therefore, before you accept that job offer that requires you to
move overseas or deciding to move your family across state lines,
there are a few points that one should take into consideration.
It may be easy to see the pay rise or the other opportunities that
may come with that, it is also important to consider the other side
of the coin. What this does is that it gives you a clearer
perspective on your move; if you find that the pros outweigh the
cons, then you are sure that you have made the right decision, but
should the opposite turn out to be true, then it may be worth to
take a step back and find out what it is that you can do different
to ensure that the decision is right for you and for your family.
This factor is more so important when one wants to make an
international move. An international move requires that you leave
everything behind and start a new life in a place that is more often
than not a strange land. So what are the cons that one should
consider before making a move?
1. The worst part of moving is packing. Often you will require one
to decide what it is that you have to take with you and what you
have to leave behind mainly because it would not be practical to
take everything with you. These things many not be of much value but
they may hold a sentimental value to the owner.
2. Unpacking can also be a hassle…that is of course if the moving
company was careful enough not to loose your things along the way.
It is a long and arduous process to have to re-arrange a new house
hold.
3. Leaving your friends, family and other loved ones behind may be
extremely difficult especially if you are moving to an area where
you do not know anyone. Technology has however lessened his burden
with the onset of emails, blogs, and facebook among others which
means that you can always keep in close contact with those you love.
4. The long and tedious processes of getting visas, work permits and
residential permits are not interesting to think about. You may also
have to endure medical tests, new driving tests depending on the
laws of the country that you are relocating to. These may be a
source of frustration as well as stress but it should also serve as
a source of comfort to know that the country where you’re moving to
is keen on finding out who is coming into their country.
5. It may also be a bit difficult for you and your family to settle
in a new place where you do not know anyone but your attitude should
be that of openness to experience new things and places and you
should be fine in time.
6. Costs involved in moving but especially in an international move
are phenomenal. Considering the costs before hand may help you to
decide whether in deed you can afford or not to make a move at that
particular time.
Moving to a new country is one of the most stressful situations that
one can find themselves in and it may therefore be a good idea to
make a list of all the pros and cons to ensure that you are making
the right decision. Because moving is such a huge step, it is
important to consider all factors that are involved. You may find
after considering these factors that you need to post phone the move
or even scrap it all together.
